Governors are one of the largest volunteer forces in the country. They are an integral part of school leadership and have an important part to play in raising standards.
The Governing Body’s role is strategic and it cannot get involved in the operational management of the school. Instead, its core function is to ensure high standards of educational achievement for all its pupils by:
- Setting a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction for the school
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of pupils and performance management of staff
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school, ensuring probity and value for money.
Elaine Primary School joined the Inspire Partnership on 1st May 2018. It shares it’s governance with Maundene Primary School as a local governing body. Trust governance arrangements including the functions of the local governing body can be viewed on the Inspire Partnership website: https://www.inspirepartnership.co.uk/
